Melissa is a contemporary landscape painter based on the Scottish island of Mull. Before moving to Mull in 2021, she lived in Northumberland, where she dedicated three years to formally studying Fine art, specialising in Jungian theories and Surrealism. Since graduating in 2019, she continues to focus on her own artistic development, whilst delving deeper into her research interests: local folklore and alchemical symbols.

The wild, atmospheric and surreal nature of the Scottish islands surrounding her, also provides endless inspiration for her latest series of emotive landscape paintings. Her work is often described as joyful, haunting, sensitively detailed, capable of evoking memories and celebrates the dreamlike qualities of the Hebrides.
